Now in its 78th year, the Ohio Valley Conference continues to build on the success that has made it the nation's eighth-oldest NCAA Division I conference. Over those previous 77 years the League has inspired student-athletes to realize their academic aspirations, maximize their athletics potential, and cultivate their leadership skills to prepare them for life beyond their collegiate experience.
As part of a partnership with
Jostens, each week through the academic year, we will honor an OVC student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom, in addition to earning accolades on the playing surface.
This week's honoree is Tennessee State redshirt sophomore punter
Mark Shenouda. Last year he was named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll for his work in the classroom. Last season he averaged 40.2 yards per punt with eight traveling greater than 50 yards in his first season with TSU. In the Tigers 2025 season opener against North Carolina A&T, he averaged 44.0 yards on eight punts, with four downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line.
