BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Southeast Missouri Volleyball (1-3) fell to Indiana (3-0) by a final score of 3-0 Thursday night at Wilkinson Hall. 
 
Indiana claimed the first set 25-19 over Southeast Missouri State, with Candela Alonso-Corcelles leading the Hoosiers with four kills. Despite a push from SEMO, highlighted by Lucy Arndt's two service aces late in the set, Indiana managed to maintain control. Teodora Krickovic contributed significantly for the Hoosiers with multiple assists, setting up key plays that kept the home team ahead.
 
Southeast Missouri State started strong in the second set against Indiana, opening with a service ace from Megan Holder and building a lead of 11-6 thanks to three more aces, including two by Harper Highfill. However, Indiana clawed back, erasing a five-point deficit with a series of kills from Jaidyn Jager and Avry Tatum, to secure a 25-18 set victory. 
 
Indiana secured the third set, 25-18. Despite SEMO's efforts, including Arndt's four kills and Highfill's service ace, Indiana maintained control to win Thursday's match.

MICHIGAN STATE 3, SOUTHERN INDIANA 0
EVANSVILLE, Ind. 
- University of Southern Indiana volleyball set a new attendance record of 1,220 fans in a tough-fought loss against Michigan State, falling to 1-3 on the season.

The previous attendance record was set in the 2024 season against rival Evansville with 824 Screaming Eagles fans.

The Screaming Eagles came out strong against the Spartans in the first set. The defense put up three blocks as a team, and out-dug the Spartans 18-13. USI held MSU to their lowest hitting percentage of .257 of the game in the first set. Junior Ashby Willis tallied four kills, leading the team.

USI held strong against the Spartans, holding up a wall at the net by doubling their team blocks to six, led by junior McKenzie Murphy, who had three. Freshman Carley Wright led the offense with four kills in the second set.

The final set was marked with Wright doubling her kills, connecting on another four. Freshman Mackenzie Nettles made her debut late in the set, helping the offense resettle. The Spartans overpowered the USI offense, holding their hit percent to .033, and going on a run of points to end the match.

For the game, Freshman Aysa Thomas set a new season-high with nine digs, Wright led the team with eight kills, and Murphy led the court with three blocks.

MISSOURI STATE 3, LINDENWOOD 1
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (3-1, 0-0 OVC) suffered their first loss of the season on Thursday evening, falling 1-3 against Missouri State (1-3, 0-0 CUSA) in Springfield.

The Lions dropped sets one and two by scores of 16-25, with Missouri State hitting north of .350 in both frames while outblocking Lindenwood 10-1.  

Lindenwood punched back in set three with a 26-24 win to extend the match. The Lions defense limited the Bears to a .156 attack percentage in the frame, while Kylee Richey and Meghan Donoughue led the charge offensively with four kills apiece.

However, LU was unable to force a fifth set, falling 25-22 in the fourth frame. Shannon Monahan and Faith Atkins posted three kills while Greta Shadewald dished out 12 assists in the set.

Kylee Richey led the Lions with 14 kills in the match while Meghan Donoughue handed out 30 assists.

The Lions posted 8.0 team blocks, with Faith Atkins, Autumn Bax, and Ashley Geluck each contributing three rejections.

Meanwhile, Dana Grib led the match with a career-high 23 digs.
