Four OVC Players Selected in 2026 MLB First-Year Player Draft

Four OVC baseball players were selected in the 2026 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft which took place on Saturday and Sunday.

That included one pick in the 14th Round, two picks in the 15th Round an done in the 17th Round.

It marked the first MLB Draft selections for the OVC since six players were selected in the 2023 draft.

Little Rock pitcher Brannon Westmoreland was was the first off the board in the 14th Round with pick No. 416 by the Arizona Diamonbacks. He is the fourth OVC player selected by the Diamondbacks in the past five years. 

OVC Co-Player of the Year Ryan Niedzwiedz of SIUE was picked No. 434 overall by the Colorado Rockies and followed by Southeast Missouri outfielder Caleb Klein later in the 15th Round with pick No. 442. 

The selections were rounded out when the other OVC Player of the Year TJ Grines of UT Martin was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 17th Round with pick No. 499 overall
