GameTime Hydration Student-Athlete of the Week: Olivia Lohmeier

Now in its 73rd year, the Ohio Valley Conference continues to build on the success that has made it the nation's eighth-oldest NCAA Division I conference. Over those 73 years the League has inspired student-athletes to realize their academic aspirations, maximize their athletics potential, and cultivate their leadership skills to prepare them for life beyond their collegiate experience.

As part of a new partnership with GameTime Hydration, each week through the rest of the academic year, we will honor an OVC student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom, in addition to earning accolades on the playing surface.

This week's honoree is Morehead State volleyball player Olivia Lohmeier. Lohmeier was one of six OVC student-athletes to win this year's prestigious OVC Scholar-Athlete Award.  She is majoring in business information systems and a year ago she was honored as the MSU College of Business and Technology Outstanding Computer Information Systems Student of the Year. She has earned multiple OVC Academic Medal of Honors and been a multi-year selection to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll and MSU Dean’s List. She is part of the Leadership Team for the Eagles Volleyball program, a member of Athletes in Action (AIA) and volunteered with numerous events including Better Life Church, College Night, Freshman Move-In and various youth clinics.

On the court Lohmeier is an outside hitter and team captain who in 2019 was a first-team All-OVC selection, an AVCA All-Midwest pick and an honorable mention All-American by VolleyballMag.com. During the year she was seventh nationally in points (620.) and eighth in kills (564). That came one year after she was named the OVC Player of the Year. She also competes with the MSU beach volleyball program.
