2016 OVC Soccer Championship
The 2016 OVC Soccer Championship marked the 18th tournament in Conference history. Once again the format included the regular season ending on a Thursday with the the first round of the championship (featuring the No. 3 through No. 6 seeds) being played on Sunday at campus sites (higher seeds in each matchup). The winners then advanced to the campus of the No. 1 seed (Murray State) and play the semifinals and championship at that location. Prior to 2015 all six teams played on the campus of the No. 1 seed.
After beating Austin Peay on penalty kicks in the first round and host Murray State in overtime during the semifinals, SIUE topped Eastern Kentucky 1-0 in this year's championship game to win its second title in the past three years.
