The 2015 Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship is scheduled to get underway on Wednesday with two games.

In the first game of the day No. 4 seed Tennessee Tech topped No. 5 seed Jacksonville State 5-3 in a rematch of last year's Championship Round. The second game saw No. 6 Belmont top No. 3 SIUE in 11 innings.

This season marks the 37th time the event has been held and the sixth year in a row it has been held at The Ballpark at Jackson (formerly Pringles Park) in Jackson, Tennessee. The venue is home of the Jackson Generals, the AA-affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

The entire tournament is being streamed live and free of charge on the OVC Digital Network. The games are available in HD and available on any computer, tablet or smart phone.

#4 TENNESSEE TECH 5, #5 JACKSONVILLE STATE 3
JACKSON, Tenn.
- Dylan Bosheers had three hits including a three-run home run in the fifth inning to help propel No. 4 seed Tennessee Tech to a 5-3 victory over No. 5 Jacksonville State in the opening game of the 2015 OVC Baseball Championship at The Ballpark at Jackson.

The senior shortstop, and first-team All-OVC selection, increased his career hits total to 278 which moved him into 10th place on the OVC career list.

The Golden Eagles (26-27) scored two runs in the first inning on a Bosheers RBI single and a Jacksonville State error.  Jacksonville State (29-26) added solo runs in the second and fourth to tie the game, the later coming on a Ryan Sebra solo home run.

But Bosheers blast, his eighth of the season, broke the tie and proved to be the difference.

TTU starter Chris Chism (8-3) improved to 8-3 on the season in allowing three runs over 6.2 innings. Jeb Scoggins closed out the game in limiting the Gamecocks to just one hit over the final 2.1 innings; he picked up his sixth save in the process.

Zachary Fowler (8-3) took the loss after allowing five runs in 6.1 innings.

Tennessee Tech advances to play No. 2 seed Morehead State on Thursday. Jacksonville State, the defending champions, will play in an elimination game against No. 3 SIUE at 11 a.m. on Thursday.

The game was delayed by two hours prior to the first pitch due to rain in the area.

JACKSON, Tenn.
- Belmont scored two runs on wild pitches in the 11th inning to top No. 3 seed SIUE.

The back-and-forth game saw 30 combined hits and 33 runners left on base.

With the win No. 6 seed Belmont (28-27) will advance to play No. 1 seed Southeast Missouri on Thursday night at 7 p.m. SIUE (20-29) will play No. 5 seed Jacksonville State in an elimination game at 11 a.m. CT.

Drew Ferguson finished the night 5-for-7 with two runs scored for the Bruins.

Matthew Kinney (3-5) was the winning pitcher after allowing three hits and one run over the final 4.2 innings of work.

Zach Malach (1-2) was the losing pitcher after pitching the final two innings.
