OVC Players of the Week
 
PLAYER
Mack Whitcomb, C • 6-0, 200, So. • Mokena, Ill. • Tennessee Tech
Whitcomb helped power Tennessee Tech to a four-game sweep of Le Moyne by hitting .385 (5-for-13) with five runs scored, two doubles, a triple, two home runs, six RBI and a 1.154 slugging percentage. In game two of the series he crushed a go-ahead, three-run home run that represented the team's game-winning run. In the season finale he went deep again, hammering an opposite field blast into a 15-mile per house head wind. Whitcomb had at least one hit in each game of the series.

CO-PITCHER
Jack Cline, RHP • 6-3, 215, Sr. • Little Rock, Ark. • Little Rock
Cline struck out a career-high 10 batters as Little Rock topped Evansville 11-1 on Saturday to complete a three-game sweep of the Purple Aces. It marked the first 3-0 start to the season for the Trojans since 2014. Kline went six innings and scattered four hits while allowing one earned run and not allowing a walk. After allowing two hits in the first inning, the senior allowed only one single over the next four innings, retiring 12 of 13 batters over the stretch.
 
CO-PITCHER
Sam Heyman, RHP • 6-2, 180, Jr. • Lafayette, Calif. • Southeast Missouri
Heyman scattered two hits and did not allow a run over six innings as Southeast Missouri picked up a 7-3 win at Memphis in the second game of Friday's doubleheader. The junior had a career-high eight strikeouts and walked two batters.  He allowed a double in the second and third innings, but after the third frame he retired nine-straight batters before departing the game.

Other Notable Performances
Below are other notable performances from the past week.
 
Khi Holiday (OF, Sr.), Southern Indiana. Holiday helped USI go 3-1 at Alabama State to open the season. The senior hit .444 (8-for-18) with eight runs scored, six RBI and six stolen bases.
 
Zach Henry (OF, R-Sr.), Little Rock. Henry helped his team to a sweep of Evansville by hitting .545 (6-for-11) with five runs scored, a home run, three RBI and three stolen bases.
 
Hayden Robbins (OF, R-So.), Morehead State. In a pair of games at Arkansas State, the sophomore hit .556 (5-for-9) with two runs scored and a triple.
 
Drake Bayles (RHP, Jr.), UT Martin. Bayles struck out three and did not allow a run over five innings as the Skyhawks shut out the Rattlers 8-0 on Saturday.
 
Chase Bloomer (SS, Jr.), SIUE. Bloomer slugged .643 as SIUE went 2-1 at the South Alabama Invitational. The junior had six hits (including a home run) and scored five runs.
 
Tyler Kapraun (LHP, Grad.), Eastern Illinois. Did not allow a run over 5.1 innings as team would win 6-2 at ULM on Sunday.
 
Will Grimmett (RHP, Sr.), Morehead State. Picked up the win in an extra inning victory over Arkansas State. In the bottom of the 10th, he wiggled out of a bases loaded, no-out jam by inducing three-straight ground ball outs.
