Now in its 73rd year, the Ohio Valley Conference continues to build on the success that has made it the nation's eighth-oldest NCAA Division I conference. Over those 73 years the League has inspired student-athletes to realize their academic aspirations, maximize their athletics potential, and cultivate their leadership skills to prepare them for life beyond their collegiate experience.
As part of a new partnership with
GameTime Hydration, each week through the rest of the academic year, we will honor an OVC student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom, in addition to earning accolades on the playing surface.
This week's honoree is Belmont senior golfer
Evan Davis. A year ago he was named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll for his success in the classroom where he is a business major.
He has led the OVC in scoring average each of the past two years, 70.4 in 2019-20 and 70.1 so far in 2020-21. He was named OVC Golfer of the Year this year, won co-medalist honors at the OVC Championship and will compete as an individual in the NCAA Regionals. Davis is ranked 79th nationally by GolfStat.
